Shark Harbor Lullaby

de Wheeland Brothers

We've been far across the ocean
Went by car and boat and bus
But so far I'm feelin' closer than we've ever been before
Traveled all along the coastline to our little island cove
All along this world keeps pushing on but we've been moving slow

Settled in beside a beach fire, dug our feet deep in the sand
Settlin' for city livin' is something I can't understand
We've been up and down this coastline, we've seen all the big time lights
Until now I never noticed how many stars are in the sky

Someday we'll think about these days
And if home is just a place then why are we only visiting
The sun and the waves, the melodies we've made
All the memories we maybe need to make again

Yesterday the next cove over, swimmin' naked in the sea
With a smile as bright as our tan lines, just my girl and me
Through the wind and rain and thunder our little tent still stood
As the morning broke and we awoke the storm had left for good
We've been meeting all the locals, all the lobsters and the fish
So we swam right up and puckered up to greet them with a kiss

Someday we'll think about these days
And if home is just a place then why are we only visiting
The sun and the waves, the melodies we've made
All the memories we maybe need to make them
Oo maybe we could make them again

We've been far across the ocean
Went by car and boat and bus
But so far I'm feelin' closer than we've ever been before
