Smoke

de Snuffed on Sight

Never the same, never the same
With your head in your hands, push the pain and you're right back at it again
Never again, never again
Eyes to the sky but you've never thought of trusting yourself

The whole worlds beating down your door
The tears come crashing to the ground

I have learnt to walk on water, cause the world kept burning bridges and where most would stop and give up I rose above
There's no such thing as failure just the ones who purely gave up on themselves and the determined

I've got enough to make it home

I've had demons breathing down my neck before and like you I didn't know how to handle cause somehow growing up has taught us misery and it broke everything we loved
But I thought and found another answer cause the cards that I was dealt never really made sense to me

And I was never the same, never the same
With my fists by my side, I push the pace and I'm right back in it again
Never again, never again
My heart is my guide so much more than merely trusting yourself
This world may beat me down
This world might truly hate me
But this world won't see me fall
No this world won't see me drown

So you can burn those bridges
I will learn to walk on water
I will be that shining beacon
Standing alone, for everyone else.
