Mamaleek are two brothers from San Francisco, playing a unique style of post-black metal. Nearly all of their songs are named after spirituals from North America's slavery era, and some of them are straight-up rearrangements or adaptations.

Their foundation is in black metal, but over the course of their three albums, they've incorporated shoegaze, noise, jazz, and world fusion into their sonic palette. Their first two albums (now out-of-print) were more decidedly low-fi, whereas they're a bit more polished for their third LP, Kurdaitcha, which came out back in March. Since 2011, they released 4 more albums and 1 EP.

Mamaleek repeatedly creates some of the most intriguing, aesthetically-realized Black Metal anywhere.
