1- Bill Evans (Plainfield, 16-8-1929 - Nueva York, 15-9-1980), pianista estadounidense de jazz. Su obra abarca el cool, el post-bop y la música modal. Está considerado como uno de los más importantes pianista de jazz de la historia. Su influencia se puede percibir en numerosos pianistas como Brad Mehldau, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett y Herbie Hancock.
* Evans es un pianista que parte del impresionismo de Debussy y Ravel, y trae al jazz una influencia de corte clásico europea, llena de lirismo, relajación e introversión (de él dijo Gene Lees que era un "poeta del piano"). Una parte de las críticas que se le ha dirigido está encaminada a recordar su dificultad para el swing y un apartamiento excesivo de las raíces africanas del jazz. Por otro lado, también se le ha reprochado un considerable efecto de monotonía en una audición global de su obra, debido a su apegamiento...
